Description
Oak Wood Effect Floor Tiles (20×120 cm)
This is porcelain, not wood. It is printed and textured to read as oak planking, cut to a 20×120 cm plank format so it lays like a real timber floor. From standing height most people cannot tell the difference, and it solves the two problems real wood has in Pakistan: water and termites.
Where this tile works best
- Bedrooms and living rooms where you want warmth underfoot without timber maintenance
- Kitchens and dining areas, where a real wooden floor would be at risk from spills
- Ground floor rooms where rising damp rules out timber entirely
What to know before you buy
Lay these in a staggered brick pattern rather than lining the joints up, and stagger by no more than one third of the plank length. Large format planks can bow very slightly along their length, and a half stagger exaggerates any lipping between tiles. Any experienced fitter will know this, but it is worth confirming before work starts.
The surface has a light texture, so it grips better underfoot than a polished tile while still wiping clean with a normal mop. No sealing, no polishing, no re-coating.
