Description
Walnut Herringbone Wooden Flooring
Engineered walnut, supplied as short blocks cut for herringbone installation. Engineered means a genuine walnut wear layer bonded over a cross laid plywood core. You get real timber grain on the surface with far more dimensional stability than solid wood, which matters in a climate that swings between dry summers and a humid monsoon.
Where this flooring works best
- Formal drawing rooms and dining rooms where the floor pattern is part of the design
- Master bedrooms and dressing rooms
- Boutique offices, showrooms, and consulting rooms
What to know before you buy
Herringbone takes longer to lay than straight planking and needs a fitter who has done it before. The setting out at the start determines whether the pattern runs true across the whole room, and a mistake in the first few rows compounds all the way to the far wall. Budget for skilled labour, not just material.
This is real wood on the surface, so it is not suitable for bathrooms or any area that gets standing water. It is compatible with underfloor heating provided the system is brought up to temperature gradually. Ask us before you install over heating and we will confirm the correct commissioning sequence.
